Bait Box
The bait box, for Rentokil, replaced a metal box construction which was more expensive and not as durable.
Through careful consideration to part detail and tool split-line, the design achieves a functional complexity without process complexity. The lid and base are moulded within 'open and shut' tooling parameters, without need for the complexities and cost of side cores.
Being more secure than a label, the product warning is moulded into the lid.
The design is robust to cope with the rigours of the box being treated roughly.
“complex function, but simple manufacturing process”
