//Open thinking in product design

Open thinking to challenge, clarify and create focussed innovation

We rarely take a brief on face value; we engage with what is being asked of us. How does the research shape the product? Does it connect with the user? Does it work commercially? Is the technology appropriate? How will the product work in the market? Does it all make sense?

We think hard about what the client wants to achieve and challenge the industry norms. If it all stacks up, good, the brief is robust and we have sound foundations to create a good product design.

This hard thinking, invested at the start of the product design process, opens up new perspectives and allows creativity and innovation to flourish. This is a collaborative process where dialogue with the client is open.

With 15 years experience, we know the questions to ask. We discover the underlying parameters that drive the product design process. Critically we identify any potential design conflicts, whether market, human factors, industrial design, engineering or production driven and identify the ‘problem areas’ at the start of the product design process.

Thinking out the endgame early, goes a long way to setting the design on the right path to create a world class product.

we know the questions to ask that challenge
